Mel completed one of his lifelong goals today. Has can now say he has been in every state in the USA. Before today, he had been to all States except Mississippi, Alabama and Florida and now his States are complete!

It was FREEZING cold and windy this morning in Egan, Louisiana. It was in the low 30s but felt like 0. Mel had to wear winter gloves and coat when he took out the girlz to throw the ball.

We left Cajun Haven about 8:30 and headed east towards Florida. I had emailed Suzanne W (Sonic’s mom) and told her we would be staying at the Wal-Mart in Pensacola. Suzanne said she had a friend, Kim, in Crestview, FL who said we could stay at her place for the night AND, best of all, there was agility stuff and a place for the Horribles to run!!!! Suzanne is our savior and hero! Thanks Suzanne & Kim!

We arrived late afternoon and we all went for a great walk in the sandy countryside. The Girlz were in heaven! Josephine had more fun than I have seen her have in a long time. Little MiniMe jumped for joy and did zoomies all over the place. Isabella and Millie scouted for critters and Sonic chased Crush while Crush herded her Poodles.

All together there were our 6 girlz, Suzanne’s 3 little ones, a friend of Kim’s brought her young BC and Kim had a Sheltie, a Springer and 2 BCs. There were 14 dogs on our walk! All got along well considering the very strong personalities (the dogs I mean J).

Kim and her husband Tom were SO nice to have us stay in their home and invite us in for dinner. What a treat!

It has been a lot of fun visiting with Suzanne and getting to know her and her little dogs too J.

Louisiana gets our vote as having the crappiest roads we have encountered as well as NO rest stops. Mississippi had nice roads and awesome rest stops!

The countryside today was varied and interesting. We crossed through four States today. The swamps/bayous/ponds/wetlands/lakes/marshes or whatever you want to call them were stunning. The road stretched for miles high over the wet ground.

No driving complaints today J. Lucky Mel.
