After a wonderful weekend at the Kennel Club of Palm Springs agility trial, we loaded up the girlz into the Global Warmer and headed east to Indio, CA. We stayed at Indian Waters RV Park Sunday and Monday night. We ate at our favorite Native Foods vegan restaurant in Palm Desert and worked the girlz at the Grand Paw on Jackson St. in Vista Santa Rosa (really in Indio but VSR sounds nicer).
After a great haircut by the World's greatest hairdresser, Rosie Borrego, in Palm Desert, I picked up some food to go from Native Food and headed out to meet up with Mel who was at the RV repair shop due to a hydraulic leak in the front levelers.
It was noon before we got on the road so we only got to Casa Grande, Arizona the first night. Evidently, the city of Casa Grande has a no overnight parking law so we couldn't stay at Wal-Mart. Luckily, there was a great RV park at the next exit so that is where we stayed. It was nice to be able to do laundry (something we can't do if we stay at Wal-Mart).
We left early this morning and got as far as El Paso Texas before we ran out of gas (figuratively, not really :).
We stopped at Camping World just over the Texas border. They have a great RV park and it was up next to a large open area so we had a place to walk the dogs.
We turned them all loose and they took off running full out. I heard yips of joy from all the girlz but especially Isabella who loves to chase more than anything. We walked for an hour or so and little MeMe really had a blast. She jumped over the sagebrush and peeked in every cave and hole looking for critters. Luckily, all they found was a jack rabbit that was far enough away when it was spotted that the girlz didn't have a chance to catch it.
After the hike, I threw the ball with the Chuck-it for the three youngsters, MeMe, Charisse & Crush, so they don't drive us crazy cooped up in the motorhome.
Tomorrow we set off for Kyle, Texas to visit Mel's daughter. We looked for a place to train but can't find one. That is the hardest part about being on the road. There is no place to train. Crush had just started doing full dog walks before we left so we hate to stop where we left off with her training. We don't plan to show her until spring so we have lots of time but we hate missing her training.
We are settled in for the night now and it is time to feed the girlz. Josephine is staring at me and telling me she is staring to death so I best be getting on their dinner.
