Adventures of the Horrible Hooligans
Epcot to Daytona Beach January 24, 2008

Ever since it opened, I have wanted to go to Epcot Center. I wasn’t disappointed. We started off in the big silver ball. The train took us from the beginning of man to the future in just a few minutes. The animations were incredible and lifelike. We both enjoyed it a lot.

After the silver ball ride, we went into some of the other attractions like Inventions and Innovations. We liked the Land exhibit very much. We took a short boat ride and saw incredible plants and fruit bearing trees as well as ways they are growing edibles without soil.

We both thought Epcot was a million times better than Disney World. The walk around the world was fun and entertaining. Living in a motorhome prevents us from buying a bunch of crap. Actually, Mel has no desire to buy crap but I am a crap magnet.

To get to Epcot, we took a bus ride to the Outpost, then hopped another one to the entrance of Epcot. It was free and convenient. It costs a fortune to buy the tickets for the day but once you get your ticket, everything except food and crap is free.

Today the dogs didn’t get to go to the dog park. Mel wanted to rest MeMe’s legs as well as ours. We walked 6 ½ miles yesterday at Epcot and 6 miles the day before at Disney World. We were and are both very tired and sore.

We took our last long showers until we leave Florida sometime after February 6th. It will be Navy showers for us for a while now.

It was a fairly short drive from Orlando to Daytona Beach and, except for the two new dings Mel put in the Global Warmer, everything went smoothly. He was pulling out of the narrow RV spaces at DW and thought he had cleared the logs. Unfortunately, he hadn’t and now we have two small dents in the basement doors. Very sad L.

We were the second RV to arrive at the trial site so we got a great spot right up front. There are no hook ups at all so we will have to run the generator a lot. Luckily, the weather is going to be cooler so we won’t have to run the air conditioner much.

Our stay in Florida is winding down. I have to say I am looking forward to going back to California but the long drive not so much.
