Legg-Calve-Perthes Diagnosis and Pathology Report For Tiara MiniMe
Below is a copy of the diagnosis for our Tiara MiniMe's Legg-Calve-Perthes condition. This is a genetic
condition normally found in miniature and toy breeds. MeMe is the first standard Poodle diagnosed with
this disease. Her mother was sired by a mini Poodle. She also suffers from retinal Dysplasia (another
disease of minis and toys).
LCP is a terrible disease. The pain is horrible and the surgery involves removing the head and neck of the
femur.
Parents and siblings of dogs with this disease should NEVER EVER be bred! The mode of inheritance is
not understood so taking the chance of producing a dog with LCP is totally irresponsible.
